Manipur Governor hosts Thai Princess

Newmai News Network Imphal | November 29   Manipur Governor of Manipur Dr. Najma Heptulla hosted dinner for the visiting Princess of Kingdom of Thailand, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal last night.   Soon after her arrival at the Raj Bhavan, the princess was warmly received by the Governor and a bouquet was presented to the Princess. The Governor introduced Deputy Chief Minister Y. Joykumar and Speaker Y. Khemchand to the Princess and her team.   The Governor presented gifts including a book and lengyan (shawl) to the Princess and her team. In return, the Princess too presented gift to the Governor, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Speaker.   In a brief interaction, the Governor said she was glad that the Princess is visiting Manipur and also added that her visit to the Thailand in the past has been a pleasant experience. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn stated that she had previously visited India 18 times although it is her maiden visit to the State. She said her visit to the Manipur has been pleasant and delightful.   Before leaving the Raj Bhavan, the Princess signed on the Governor visitor’s book. The Princess is on a two-day visit to Imphal to witness the annual Manipur Sangai Festival, 2018.   Earlier on that day, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Sendra and Keibul Lamjao in Bishnupur District and in the afternoon she visited Kangla.
