Tsüngkamneo cum Mini Hornbill enters day two

Tuensang, January 16 (MExN): The Tsüngkamneo cum Mini Hornbill day two was graced by Minister for Planning & Co-Ordination & Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu as special guest. Chang Khulei Setshang, President, Nungsanglemba Chang was the tribal guest.

Neiba in his address congratulated the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) and Yimchungrü people for bringing fast development in the newly established Mundün Heritage village. He asserted that Mundün has great potential of attracting tourist, both local and foreigners as the heritage side has beautiful landscapes.

The Minister encouraged the gathering to take up coffee plantation which will generate generous income. He also said that Nagaland produces one of the world best qualities of coffee.

Other guest including ENPO, President, Kekongchi; DC Kiphire, Sarita Yadav, IAS; and Advisor, Water Resources Development Namri Nchang also spoke during the function.

The third session of day two on January 16 was marked by traditional games competitions. Traditional tug-of-war was won by Lungtoker village followed by Chessore village and Kuthur village in 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The traditional crossbow competition also took part in the fest where Bedang village under Pungro subdivision emerged winner and Kuthur and Mudengkhung were declared 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Earlier, the day started with marathon race from Thyiang village to Mundün Heritage village. The festival marathon was flag-off by Bharat Laxman Markod IPS, SP Tuensang on January 16.
