The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Media Department, in collaboration with the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), launched a “National Talent Hunt” at the Congress Bhavan in Dimapur. According to the AICC, the initiative aims to recruit individuals from Nagaland for three roles within the party— Spokespersons, Media Panelists, and Researchers.
AICC Media Coordinator, Dolly Sharma, announced the programme at a press conference on February 14. Sharma said that the programme seeks to train the next generation of communicators. “This initiative is not just about politics; it’s about empowerment,” Sharma said. She noted that the party seeks individuals who believe in democracy, adding, “We want local voices to represent local issues at the national level.”
She unveiled a poster containing a QR code, allowing interested candidates to submit applications directly to the AICC headquarters. The selection process will involve application screening, group discussions, written tests, and final interviews. Successful candidates will become members of the AICC media team. There is no age limit for applicants.
She said that proficiency in Hindi is not a prerequisite, as candidates can debate and articulate issues in English. She added that selected individuals could operate remotely via video conferencing or travel with party support.
NPCC Working President Apok Jamir encouraged youth participation, describing the north-eastern region of India as a “reservoir of talent.” He said that the initiative would assist in “highlighting the problems and the demands of the youths of today, even in the national stage.” Jamir urged those eager to serve the nation to utilise the platform to voice local requirements.
According to the Congress, the registration process is scheduled to conclude by the end of February.
