Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): Bank of Baroda on September 12 announced the launch of bob World 2.0, its next-generation mobile banking application, designed to provide an AI-powered, personalised and secure banking experience.
The app was demonstrated to Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, along with Dr Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and CEO, Bank of Baroda, and the bank's executive directors at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai on September 11.
Representing the next phase of the bank's digital transformation journey, bob World 2.0 is powered by artificial intelligence and lays the foundation for a unified omnichannel digital banking ecosystem that will progressively extend across mobile and internet banking channels.
Built on a modern microservices-based digital architecture and designed as an intelligent financial ecosystem, bob World 2.0 offers a smarter, more personalised, conversational and secure banking experience, the bank said.
At the core of the application are four key capabilities - voice-enabled payments and navigation, a comprehensive Personal Financial Management (PFM) module, enhanced hyper-personalisation and persona-based customer experiences, and a multi-layered security framework.
The voice-enabled feature allows customers to initiate transactions and access functionalities through voice commands, while the PFM module provides a holistic view of their finances and aims to improve financial wellness.
The enhanced hyper-personalisation and persona-based experience is tailored to individual customer needs, including those of senior citizens, women, NRIs and millennials.
The multi-layered security framework provides real-time protection, according to the bank. Speaking on the launch, Dr Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Baroda, said customers increasingly expect banking experiences that are intuitive, intelligent, secure and highly personalised as banking becomes more digital.
“With bob World 2.0, we have reimagined mobile banking around our customers' needs, combining financial wellness tools, voice-enabled AI-driven engagement and personalised customer experiences on a single platform,” he said.
