Earlier, officiating the formal declaration of the tournament, Theja Therieh, former president Chakhesang Hoho Kohima (CHK) thanked the Organisers, the pastors, and the sports lovers of CBCK for organising this celebratory sporting event.
“The parallels between a sporting life and the life of a Christian believer are one of the most powerful metaphors used in the teaching of Christ. Both require intense discipline, singular focus, and a refusal to give up before reaching the finish line,” he said.
He said that sports support both physical health and a deeper sense of personal, mental, and spiritual well-being by engaging the body and mind in full presence of discipline.
The opening ceremony was led by Chekrongoi Theyo while Rev Vezopa Rhakho invoked God’s blessings. The programme was compered by Hukupa Ciekhan. Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh proposed vote of thanks while Rev Vikuo Rhi pronounced benediction
