DBSU condemn assault on youths in Meghalaya

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The Dimapur Bengali Students' Union (DBSU) strongly condemned the incident which took place at Lawsohtun in Shillong on July 3 in which five youths belonging to the Bengali community were reportedly assaulted by a 20 miscreants.

 

According to the police, the five boys had come to play basketball at Lawsohtun block VI to which they had been coming for the last two weeks when the miscreants appeared and assaulted them with iron rods, sticks, and bamboos, the DBSU said in a press release on July 7.

 

The union appealed to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and the government of Meghalaya to take stringent actions against those involved in the incident.


It also appealed to everyone to stay united and fight against the common enemy instead of against each other.
