Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Dimapur district administration has decided to observe the Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 with mass social work.
In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, in a circular, has informed all concerned that there will be a mass social work on October 2 from 6AM onwards in all government institutions/offices/colonies/wards/villages under Dimapur district to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti.
“All concerned HODs, Heads of Offices, Ward/ Colony authorities, Village authorities shall make necessary arrangements for the same in their respective Offices/ area,” it said.
It further stated directed the Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council; Administrators of all town councils; and all concerned Headquarters or outpost administrative offices to supervise and ensure necessary arrangements like garbage collection or disposal etc during the social work.
“All necessary COVID-19 precautions like wearing face mask, social distancing etc shall be strictly adhered to during the same,” the circular added.
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated annually on October 2 to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
