Kohima district fetes online competition winners on HIV, TB

Kohima, October 20 (MExN): The Kohima district administration feted the winners of online competition ‘New India@75 awareness on HIV, TB and Blood Donation’ conducted for selected schools and colleges under Kohima district on October 12.

Six selected schools and colleges took part in the competition based on several concepts such as  'Paint your thought’; 'Voice your thought'; 'Film your thought on Blood Donation'; 'Film your thought on HIV'; ' Publicize your thought on TB'; and 'Publicise your thought on Blood Donation'.

Lauding the efforts and contributions made by the students, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS at the function said that the ideas and thoughts on various themes brought out by the students would go a long way in the fight against the health issues.

He also encouraged them to continue with the spirit of participation and competition in their future academic career, a DIPR report informed.  

The DC also extended his gratitude to the participating schools and colleges for taking the importance of the New India@75 programme and its activities.

Under the programme, various activities have been initiated with an aims to educate and improve the health sector, where concerted efforts from all section is required, he added.

Cash prizes along with certificates were handed to all the winners by the DC.

Among others, the Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr Vezokholu Theyo and District TB Officer Kohima, Dr Akaba Jamir along with other committee members and parents of the winning students were present during the award ceremony.
