Maruti Suzuki launches mini-SUV S-Presso
New Delhi, September 30 (IANS): Automobile major Maruti Suzuki on Monday launched mini-SUV 'S-Presso' priced in the range of Rs 3.69 lakh to Rs 4.91 lakh.
The company said the mini-SUV has been built afresh on acclaimed 5th generation 'Heartect' platform and uses 40 per cent high tensile steel.
According to Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India: "We continue our endeavour to provide Indian customers with high quality cars backed by affordable pricing. Today's global launch of S-PRESSO stands testament to our commitment to offer best in design, technology and safety to our customers."
"I am happy to share that 'S-PRESSO' joins our BS6 range, as the 8th vehicle compliant with new emission norms," he added.

Price
This is one aspect that always interests people. The price. More so in India. As soon as people hear about a new vehicle, they inquire about its price. Maruti Suzuki S Presso is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals
The new S Presso will challenge Renault Kwid facelift and Datsun Redi-Go. Don't be surprised if the mini-SUV eats into the market share of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10.
Engine
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be powered by a BS6-compliant, 68 hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine. The motor will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AGS (Auto Gear Shift).
Variants
There will be four variants available in S-Presso. They are Std, LXi, VXi and VXi+.
Dimensions
The new S-Presso will have a length of 3,665 mm. Its width will be 1,520 mm and wheelbase 2,380 mm. The height will be 1,549 mm with 13-inch wheels, while it will be slightly higher at 1,564 mm with 14-inch wheels. The vehicle will have a gross weight of 1,170 kg.
Exterior Features
We have already seen S Presso and know how it looks. There are newly-designed headlamps along with body-coloured bumpers and ORVMs. You might see a slight resemblance between the grilles of S-Presso and Vitara Brezza. The rear looks sporty with the reflectors placed below the smartly-designed tail-lights.
Interior Features
The mini-SUV gets a digital instrument cluster, which is centrally located above the Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system. There is a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with controls for music and calls.
Safety Features
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with standard features like ABS with EBD, driver side airbag, reverse parking sensor, speed alert system and driver and co-driver seat belt reminder.
