Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): One minor girl was killed while two persons went missing after a major fire broke out in Dudu colony in the neighbouring Lahorijan in Assam on Tuesday.
According to updates, Fire and Emergency Services mobilized quick response teams from Fire Station Dimapur Central, Fire Station Dimapur West and Fire Station Chümoukedima to respond to the fire call at around 1:00 pm.
Six fire tenders along with sufficient equipments and fire personnel were pressed into action along with two fire tenders from Bokajan, Assam.
As per the updates, it took the fire team over two hours to contain the fire. Approximately 150 to 200 houses were gutted in the inferno. One minor girl succumbed to burns and two are still missing at the time of filing the report. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained.
The response team was led by OC, A Wati Jamir; Duty Commander, SI, Mezovilie Martin; SI, Thungathung; SI Kennyhun Kent and ASI G Niamlungpou Gonmei.
