Tseminyu, October 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) observed its 20th Foundation Day on October 3 with a trek-cum-cleanliness drive to Mt Terogvu, the highest peak in Tseminyu district.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Terogvunyu Youth Organisation (TYO) at Tseminyu village and was attended by more than 30 members.

The programme was chaired by Lawrence Keyho and began with an invocation prayer led by Khrieketoulie Kintso.

NAAME Team Leader Akho Phira delivered an overview of the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP).

This was followed by an exhortation message from NAAME president Ruokuovikho Chale, who reflected on the organisation’s two-decade journey and its consistent efforts to promote adventure and sports activities and eco-tourism while building individual and community capacities, with environmental conservation and youth development at the centre.

George Richa, proprietor of Yedikha Campsite, Jakhama, and budding tour guide Nicholas Leno also shared their experiences and encouraged the gathering to explore possibilities for developing potential hospitality hotspots and tour circuits within villages and Tseminyu district.

They highlighted the potential to enhance tourism experiences beyond existing avenues in the district.

The programme culminated with the release of NAAME’s Annual Report 2025-26 and a renewed commitment to advancing the organisation’s work and vision through collective and community engagement and ownership.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Vilhoubeinuo Sorunuo, followed by a mass prayer.
