NCD appeals extension of vehicle document deadline in Dimapur
Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has urged the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Commissionerate, to extend the last date for updating vehicle documents beyond October 11, 2026, and to open additional centres for vehicle documentation to ease public inconvenience.
In a representation to the Commissioner of Police, NCD President GK Rengma and General Secretary LK Peter Anal said it has received numerous verbal complaints and grievances from vehicle owners who are facing hardship while waiting in long queues on the road leading to the Dimapur Transport Office at Purana Bazar for vehicle documentation.
It appealed to the authorities to set up more operational mechanisms for vehicle inspection and document verification, particularly at Chümoukedima and the Old District Transport Office, to ease the public from “unseen hardship and harassment.”
The NCD further urged the authority to particularly consider the school-going community, as children will soon be appearing for their final examinations for the academic session.
“Therefore, the office of Naga Council Dimapur hereby placed an appeal before your esteemed authority to kindly consider our requests by extending the date,” the NCD said.
