Traders in Kohima facelift commercial establishments for Hornbill Festival

Traders in the state capital Kohima today facelift their commercial establishments in view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.  

A mass social work was called by Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) today from Lerie to High school area.  

All traders and business community under Kohima municipality down their shutters till 12:00 noon today in view of the social work.  

Meanwhile, KCCI president Medozhatuo Rutsa thanked fire service and PHE department for supplying water to facilitate the social work.  

He also thanked Kohima Municipal Council, 33rd Assam Rifle Kohima and 93rd BSF Battalion Kohima for their support.  

Earlier, in view of the Hornbill Night Carnival in Kohima, the KCCI asked traders to put proper light bulbs in the front facade of their shop/showroom and place dustbins.  

KCCI has further directed all shops, building owners, stalls at the Night Carnival to decorate and beautify their establishments.  

The best decorated building and stall will be given a cash reward, according to KCCI.  

To attract tourists and revellers, Lucky Draw and Raffles with attractive gifts and prizes will be held during the Hornbill Night Carnival, it added.  

The location for Hornbill Night Carnival will be from MLA Hostel Junction, Phoolbari to Razhu Point from 6: 00 PM to 9:00 PM from December 1 to 10.  

The whole stretch of the carnival will be “Plastic Free Zone” as per guidelines of the state government. The KCCI informed that there will be total ban on sale of alcohol in the carnival.
