26th Khezha Wrestling Meet held

Champion Reka Mero and other top three wrestlers along with Neikhrolo Khalo, Neisatuo Mero and other officials.
  Phek, January 18 (MExN): The Kuzha Tephe/Khezha 26th Wrestling Meet was held at Pfutsero Sports Complex on January 17.   25 year old Reka Mero from Lekromi Village emerged as the champion edging Kadalo Kapfo in the final. Mero walked away with cash prize of Rs. 60,000 while Kapfo received Rs. 40,000.   Komeyie Kapfo and Medowekhro Lasushe claimed the second and third runner up positions and received Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.   Chief Guest Neikhrolo Khalo, Vice President, Wrestling Federation of India, speaking on the occasion encouraged the people to treasure and promote the rich traditional game of Naga Wrestling which has been recognized at both the State and National level.   Guest of Honour Dr. Neisatuo Mero, Medical Officer Dental, Chozuba, said Naga Wrestling is a rich traditional game where brotherhood and unity is brought about in the spirit of sportsmanship.   12 wrestlers were selected to represent KTKWA to the CWA. They are: Reka Mero, Kadalo Kapfo, Komeyie Kapfo, Medowekhro Lasushe, Tshote Kapfo, We Deinu, Kudie Ritse, Neitshote Kapfo, Tshukhrelo Wetsah, Lhoupe Tepfo, Prewetso Krome and Latsho Kupa. In National Style, 7 wrestlers (6 male and 1 female) will be representing KTKWA at CWA.
