Choseta Swuro, Convenor Planning and Vision Cell, Thenyizu speaking on retold legends about Thenyizu and Mima village said that the long-standing friendship between Thenyizu and Mima villagers perhaps began when they went together for hunting that killed a stag.

They exchanged mass feasts (keciinyi) and pledged not to head-hunt each other. They also exchanged their animals and agricultural products and helped each other when their houses were set ablaze by enemies.

Earlier, Vilelie Khamo, Class-1 Contractor attended the 64th general session as chief guest and challenged the students to be hardworking, sincere and aim for excellence.

Narrating his own story and early struggle in his life, he reminded the gathering to remain positive at all times with self confidence and determination and by carrying on in deeds so that it will impact the village and society at large.

Khamo also urged Thenyizu and Mima villages to continue their friendship and have better bonding between the two villages.

TSU President Vekedu Resu, in his presidential address, thanked the pioneers who took great trouble in bringing the union thus far.   He also encouraged students not to lose confidence when they fail but rather try again harder.

The TSU President also led the gathering in paying tribute to late Vekrotsu Swuro.
