Conference on ‘mainstreaming the north eastern region’ Kohima, February 5 (DIPR): The conference on ‘Mainstreaming The North Eastern Region’ jointly organized by Association of Environment and Development Research (AEDR), New Delhi, PHD (Punjab, Haryana Chamber of Commerce & Industry), Center of WTO studies, Ministry of Commerce GoI and the State government is scheduled to be held on February 12 and 13 in Kohima. The Chief Minister of Nagaland T.R Zeliang has consented to inaugurate the conference on February 12 while Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industry, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti will grace the conference as chief guest. Ex-Servicemen/Widows meetings   Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): A meeting of Ex-servicemen/Widows of Dimapur district has been scheduled on February 8, 11 AM at Sainik Bhawan Dimapur. A press note from Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Dimapur Col TNK Singh (Retd) has informed that the meeting will discuss welfare measures or schemes, vocational training, Self Help Groups, Pension problems and so on. National Deworming Day on Feb 10 Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India will observe National Deworming Day (NDD) on February 10. Children from 1 to 19 years of age can get a free dose of Deworming medicine (Albendazole). In order to attain a total coverage, medicine will be dispensed through Anganwadi centre and Schools on February 10. It will also be made available on February 15 for those who have missed the dose. The teachers and the Anganwadi workers will administer the medicine from the education and Social Welfare respectively. This medicine which is a must for every individual has no untoward affect on health.
