The film focuses on a train journey as it crosses the border between India and Nepal. Shillong-based filmmaker Tarun Bhartiya has bagged two international awards for his BBC series, India's Frontier Railways - Last Train to Nepal. Bhartiya won the 'Best Director' award as well as 'Best Post-Production' award at the Royal Television Society, Yorkshire Awards 2016 in the UK. "On the day of Brexit & Borders - India's Frontier Railways won two awards out of three nominations - We won Best Director for The Last Train in Nepal and Outstanding Post Production," Tarun said in his Facebook page.
