Tuensang, April 28 (DIPR): The 1st General Session of the Tuensang District DBs Union was held at Tuensang HQ, DBs Court on April 28. The union was formed with the motto “To preserve Custom and Tradition”. Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Alem Jongshi was the Chief Guest of the programme. The chief guest in his speech appreciated the formation of the union which he hoped would be a big step towards the progress in the future. He suggested the union to retain all the Retd. DBs with a life time membership so that in times of customary disagreement the retired DBs would be helpful to advice the union. He also enlightened the house regarding the goverment policy over the contingency DBs so that the efficiency of the regular DBs shall be utilized properly. On the service rules of the DBs, he said that the single service rules for a district shall apply so that the promotional avenues based on seniority shall be strictly maintained. He added that the posting and deployment of the incumbents shall be on a linguistic basis since Tuensang District consists of many tribals. The importance of the formation of the union shall guarantee the safe guard and security of the members, he added. DBs should abstain from the conspiracies so that the meaning and objectives of being a DB shall best suit to the work, he advised.
