The two-day inter-ward sports meet organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) I Dimapur I-Mandal, came to a conclusion on November 10, with H Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA & Advisor Power, being invited as the special guest at DDSC stadium, Dimapur.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ayemi appreciated the team spirit shown by all the players and participants at various events. He noted that, as sports is a medium through which it brings together people from all walks of life, likewise the members from the different wards of Dimapur I constituency coming together shows the spirit of this unity as well. In addition, he encouraged the organisers to make the sports meet into an annual event which had not been possible for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Besides these points, Ayemi observed that as the people of the state yearns for a peaceful settlement in regard to the Indo-Naga political talks; it should be concluded at the earliest. Further maintaining that as state election is around the corner, the current NDPP-BJP alliance, including the NPF will continue in its current form. “There is no question about it and this will go on as our United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is committed to work for the people of Nagaland,” he said.

At the conclusion of the sports meet, cash prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners in the categories of men’s football, women’s volleyball and tug-of war (men & women) followed by music and entertainment.
