Kohima, January 10 (MExN): The 8-day long 60th annual sports meet of the Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organisation (ZVYSO) concluded on January 8 at Zhadima village.

Dr. Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, Samagra Shikha, Department of School Education graced the Valedictory function as the guest of honour.

Speaking at the occasion, Rio quoted a saying “Each one, choose one” challenging the local youth to identify their talent and excel in it.

As he addressed the community, he expressed delight as there is a progress in the field of sports and music among the village youth. He advised the youth to focus on their field of interest and progress in it.

As he highlighted about the unemployment crisis in the state, Rio said that the youth should not be ashamed to engage in agricultural activities.

In whichever profession the youth may choose, he encouraged them to give their best as the state needs efficient youth. In this regard, he advised the youth to stand on their foot and not become a liability.

During the closing ceremony, Rio handed over medals and certificates to the winners. Indigenous games such as bamboo slit walk, top (khouthuo), Tholi were played alongside other games and sports during the annual sports meet.
