Assam Rifles organises outreach programme for ex-servicemen

TUENSANG, SEPTEMBER 3 (MExN): The Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Zila Sainik Board, organized an ex-servicemen outreach programme on September 1 at Assam Rifle camp, Tuensang with the objective of addressing the grievances of Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Veer Naris. 

This initiative included the establishment of a Grievances Redressal Cell, which provided a platform for veterans and their families to voice their concerns and seek solutions. A total of 50 ex-servicemen, including 18 females, benefited from this programme.

The event received appreciation from Capt (IN) Lalsuonglin Tonsing, Director, Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland, who commended Assam Rifles for their commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen.

The establishment of a dedicated Grievances Redressal Cell was at the core of this initiative. Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris had the opportunity to present their concerns and grievances, enabling swift action and support in addressing their issues. 

A total of 50 Ex-Servicemen, including 18 female veterans and Veer Naris, were able to avail of the services provided during this outreach programme. Their concerns ranged from pension matters to healthcare and employment opportunities.

Capt (IN) Lalsuonglin Tonsing, Director Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland, expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for their proactive efforts in organizing this event. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in ensuring the well-being of our veterans and their families.
