Based on the recently held Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, share your observations and reflections on the following:

Positive aspects:
•    Tribalism should not separate us. We must unite! #LONGLIVENAGAS

•    Even though CEM was not successful it did have some impact. There was more awareness this time about clean elections. I hope they will continue to work tirelessly till CEM is fully successful.

•    Among the many negative aspects there were some bright spots. Some of the candidates really followed the clean election movement. In places like Mokokchung one of the candidate going from house to house and sharing about his commitment to clean election is encouraging.

Negative aspects:
•    It is not a democratic election. It's a money election.

•    Very discouraging to hear that some of the young candidates who have shouted against corruption and advocated for clean elections where themselves using a lot of money. The young candidates proved they are no better than the older ones.

•    It is well known that even outside Nagaland, those who contest elections do help the needy citizens in cash and kind. But they don't try to recover the money spent. If excess money was spent by the candidates, then it was their sole motive to win. A politicians ideology is to help the needy people. The only way for him to recover the money is to set up business and schemes and convince the public to invest there.

•    Sad to see that money is still the key factor in elections.

•    This is not democracy. This is moneycracy. What have we reduced ourselves too.

Others:
•    There are both positive as well as Negative aspects, based on the recently held Nagaland Legislative Assembly election. On the positive aspects we see women as well as some young person being elected on 14th NLA and it's a good sign. On negative aspects, same trend is continuing, that is, violence, moneypower, muscle power, etc and also same chief minister (so sad for this next 5 years). Last, but not the least, particularly among the womenfolk and girls, instead of complaining and whining like a baby, they should be like the 2 elected women.(take responsibility and accountability)

•    Proxy still exist at large

•    Money wins

•    If it headed towards the right direction this poll wouldn’t have existed.

•    Democracy is Dead in Nagaland

•    Elected candidates just to become opposition-less

•    Proved the high existence of Keyboard warriors.

•    The increase in the use of money has seen a positive growth as compared to the previous elections. The decrease in the consciousness of the general public has taken more positive growth. The lack of principle from both ends of the spectrum has further seen a positive growth. More literate people taking part in the electoral process has rather strengthened negativity towards the electioneering process rather than strengthening electoral processes. We can now play God by passing death towards another human being. (Head hunting to our ancestors was to safeguard collective progression of communities. Murder for us now is to threaten communities to refrain from thinking for collective good.) Morality of preachers and leaders from various walks of life are for newspaper headlines only and not for individuals to 'walk the talk'. Opposition-less is the new Opposition. Money is still the loudest speaker. Election during school and college admission cycles further aids in letting Money Do The Talking. My vote is not for sale but if only I could get some financial aid for my child's admission would be enough is the latest more moral phrase.
