CANSSEA explains RoP bottlenecks

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees’ Association today said the effective date of 1.1.2006 for the revised Pay Scale could not be arrived at, owing to a pending court case between the Government of Nagaland and the organization.

The CANSSEA met July 6 in the CANSSEA Conference Hall in Kohima. “Owing to the pending court case between the Govt. of Nagaland and CANSSEA the effective date of 1.1.2006 could not be arrived at. The option of 1.6.2008 with notional increment and effective date of payment from 1.4.2010 with one month arrear (March 2010) had to be accepted as the 13th (thirteenth) finance commission could not accommodate the 6th ROP,” the CANSSEA said in a statement today from it president and general secretary. On the “anomalies” in the implementation of 6 ROP, if any, the affected departments are informed to submit details to CANSSEA on or before July 10.

On the ‘acceptance of the 6th ROP’, the CANSSEA president Dr. David Sema “apprised the house of how the 6th ROP Demand Forum came into being and subsequently to election of new CANSSEA tenure of office bearers on 11th May 2010.” It was through concerted effort that “produced at least some financial benefit and better future to all employees in just a little less than two months struggle,” the CANSSEA said. He also appealed to all organization’s members to stand by the CANSSEA “not only in fighting for what we deserved but also play a constructive role in propagating values such as work culture in respective departments for a better tomorrow.” Also, the CANSSEA expressed regret that “this time some departments” had opted for the 6th ROP before the state government and the CANSSEA signed the MOU on June 29. “It stated that since ROP is an issue of common interest, it felt that in future such common issues should be addressed to with a common voice,” the CANSSEA said.
