GPRN/NSCN Release Kidnappers with dire warnings

The 8 anti social elements who were involved in the kidnapping of Mr. Virender Singh on 27th June 2009, have been released from the custody of the GPRN/NSCN. A thorough interrogation was conducted and confessional statements extracted from all the accused.  Prior to their release from the custody, a bond agreement was signed in presence of Naga Army representatives and guarantors of each of the accused. The names of the kidnappers and their guarantors are given as under.

1.    Tohovi, son of Aghovi of Luzheto Village. (Guarantor Visheto)
2.    Ikato son of Late phuheto of Shoxuvi Village. (Guarantor Akiheto)
3.    Himato son of Lhokhizhe of Ghukiye Village. (Guarantor Hetoka)
4.    Bohoi son of Ihovi of Vikuho Village. (Guarantor Kivito)
5.    Hukhevi sonb of Hekhezhe of Nihoto Village. (Guarantor Aghovi)
6.    Toshevi son of Vilohoto of Shoxuvi Village. (Guarantor Akiheto)
7.    Islam son of Khoritali of Notun Basti, Dimapur. (Guarantor Puri tali)
8.    Khuvito son of Naucha of Tosheyi Village. (Guarantor Khuvishe)

The accused were released in sound health/sound mind and on the condition that:
1.    They shall never indulge in activities which are against the Naga society and against the Ahza of the GPRN.
2.    They shall report to the GPRN/NSCN authorities as and when summoned.
3.    They shall bear any punishment as and when arrested by the GPRN for any criminal offence in future.
4.    The guarantors shall bear full responsibility if any of the accused fails to abide by the bond agreement.

It may be mentioned that earlier Dimapur police had arrested all the suspects and interrogated them but somehow failed to unearth the crime and subsequently the suspects were released. Naga Army swung into action and re-arrested the suspects and after prolonged interrogation, the suspects admitted to the crime. GPRN/NSCN is leaving no stone unturned to free the Naga society from the grip of gangsters, extortionists and kidnappers who continue to cripple the Naga society and tarnish the image of the GPRN. It also came to light that a GPRN Under Secretary in the ministry of Alee Affairs Mr. Tokivi Yeptho had aided and abetted the criminals by providing logistic support in the kidnapping case. Recognizing his failure to uphold the responsibility entrusted to him by the GPRN, he has effectively been terminated from the National Service and also from the active and primary membership of the NSCN party.

The recent arrests and release of many anti-social elements from the custody of GPRN/NSCN suggests that there is a greater conspiracy in Nagaland to break the social fabric and push the Naga society into further chaos. GPRN/NSCN appeals to all right thinking Nagas to confront all divisive elements with a firm resolve.
