Medziphema, November 6 (MExN): ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema in adherence to the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission GoI, observed the Vigilance Awareness Week from October 30 to November 5 focusing on the theme ‘say no to corruption; commit to the Nation.’

The Vigilance Awareness Week commenced with the recitation of the integrity pledge, led by Dr Girish Patil S, Director of the Institute. Dr Patil also delivered a brief address emphasizing the critical importance of vigilance in every facet of life.

On October 31, as part of capacity-building efforts, ICAR-NRC on Mithun and ICAR-Nagaland Centre jointly hosted a lecture on ‘Procurement’ featuring Pradyumna Kumar Jain, Registrar/Chief Administrative Officer (Sr Grade) from ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar.

A total of 80 participants attended the lecture, including representative from Nagaland University (School of Engineering & Technology- SET) and the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Chümoukedima.

A press release received here stated that the week-long programme is in compliance with CVC instructions, the Institute conducted various competitions such as extempore speech, quiz, slogan, essay, and drawing contests for school children, staff, and trainees, with a total of 196 participants engaging in these weeklong activities. 

As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign, the Institute displayed the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection Informers (PIDPI) banner at ICAR-NRC on Mithun Porba station, KVK Porba, ICAR-NRC on Mithun Medziphema Campus and in Medziphema town in both English and Hindi version.

The culmination of the Vigilance Awareness Week festivities took place on November 5. Dr Nazrul Haque, Principal Scientist, presided over the ceremony, where certificates were awarded to the winners of the various competitions, recognizing their dedication and integrity. 

The week-long programme was coordinated by Dr Sapunii Stephen Hanah, Senior Scientist and the Institute's Vigilance Officer, underlining the commitment of ICAR-NRC on Mithun to fostering vigilance and combating corruption for a brighter and more resilient nation.
