Is the proposal to lease out land to investors/industrialists from outside the State a sensible move on part of the Government of Nagaland? Give reasons

Yes:

•    Yes, it’s very sensible. If not for article 371 our government would have sold our land instead of leasing. Every Nagaland government from the beginning had sold out our Identity and our Prestige. They had Transform a Creditable Naga Race into a Liableless Society. All our fanciful government are/were incompetence and extravagant and have been a Delusion of Adequacy problem,  that includes our government machineries.  I think our government should also lease out all our Welfare Department like Industries, medical, social Welfare, Agri and allied etc etc... and also Privatize incapable revenue Department like PHE, Power   etc etc...

•    Yes with strict rules and no bank garantee should be given industrialists should give garantee mortgage with hundred percent development with support of Govt and people for prosperous for the people of Nagaland 24×7&30@of GDP index.

•    If it is done with proper caution with an aim to generate employment opportunities for the mass coupled with development, it can be a positive move.

•    It will bring development to the State. The Constitution also allows Indian citizens to carry any profession or business in any part of India.

•    In the days of globalisation, citizens of the state deserve economic freedom which can come only through economic growth of the state. This in turn would come from industrial growth. Indigenous industry has reached a platun and needs investment and technology from outside the state. There is no need for fear of loosing ethnic identity because of this change. Both can co-exist. Consequent Jobs created would mostly go to indigenous people. Where there is a gap May be filled by outsiders but soon the indigenous population will catch up. Brig Ashis Bhattacharyya CII.

•    That will bring more employment

•    To tackle unemployment.

•    Yes. I support it. Look at the present system. If you are the poorest among states even after 60 years of statehood, surely there must be something wrong in your methods or model of development.

•    Yes, if not, how can the State be it any gets developed on its own without any investors/industrialist from outside the State, these are being done in Every Country/States in the world.

No:

•    When we locals are having harrowing time infested and occupying all important hotspot by outsiders and especially illegal immigrants such business proposal without elevating unemployed Naga youths is no less than a treacherous move to Destroy the future of Nagas. This is a dangerous development by the Government.

•    Nagas need development but we need a better policy and system to develop without infringing on the dignity of the people. Leasing out land to industrialist is not the way. This will only cause more problems and slowly but surely these industrialist will end by taking everything.

•    This is one step towards a land sell out, if you give a inch they will take a mile. asking for trouble from all sides. since the government does not own any land how can they ask the people to lease out land? the land that will go will be belonging to MLAa anyway.

•    Because they will employ non locals and illegal immigrants and the youths of the state will remain unemployed government should focus on this issues as well employ locals first.

•    It is monetisation of public property and unless it is ratified and passed by the Assembly, no money or assets can be leased without passing through the assembly and it cannot be leased out as it seems to have carried out through MoU which is against law.

•    Only land grabbing will happen

•    British colonisation also started with Trade and economical interests which grew to political. Let us not repeat history with Nagaland, whether Foreign or Indian investors.

Others:

•    Nagas in general are vulnerable and very trusting.. who'll guide the landowners?
