Kelengol Neikha

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver or platinum. With an idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. In short it is ‘Golden Joinery’.

We are living in one of the most challenging times of our live.Covid19 pandemic has shattered all most of our goals and aspirations making us confined to our homes, making huge impetus to one’s personal social behaviour and has added another heap of problems in our daily lives. Shattered relationships, divorce, anti-social elements, personal clashes amidst friends, broken families. Thinking beyond our realms, there are political ambiguity, economy crushing down, natural calamities and also eminent personalities booked for unfathomable death. All these have created another buzz of adding information in our chaotic life and society. Albeit, positivity also engulfed during this point of time, the flipside of the situation seems to be having more impetus among the Youths of our time. This event has suddenly turnover and has definitely changed the overall ambience of the working mechanism of the economy as well the social fabric in the society and above all in one’s personal life.

The only panacea as a Christian is to rely on Christ’s grace and mercy to lift us up in this difficult time. The good thing about our faith is we firmly have the conviction that brokenness has the power, unlike anything else, to bring forth new beauty, strength and inspirations to others. It’s often in those moments that we taste deep sufferings and we realize, we are made for more. There’s more. There’s Power.  We might be far from Him, and gone astray, nevertheless, when we call unto Him, He is always near. As we metaphor Kintsugi; Jesus Christ is the perfect Kintsugi for us to repair our brokenness and thus refine us to be more sophisticated and more valuable. As a Christian Youth of this generation we are the limelight and the role model to many. Many hurdles and obstacles may envelop us to push us aside, but clinging to Christ our Saviour would be the perfect investment to decide upon. Welcoming Christ the only Healer to fix our brokenness and fallacies is the need of the hour. We can’t fathom the depth of His love, grace and mercy showered upon us every day. Embracing Christ to be our Healer, Repairer, fitting together and creating a better work of art would be the best design. He makes all things beautiful, especially in the brokenness. We will not be just merely patched back together, but there will be a perfect intervention beautifully lined with shining grace through every scar and broken space now stronger, more beautiful than before: Better than New. Exuberantly this is what His story is really all about. Bringing life to what is broken and most of all He willingly took the brokenness of the world in exchange for our freedom. So, with whole-heartedly place your broken pieces in Jesus Christ and surely with strong conviction Christ would definitely make a tremendous impact on our lives. Let this New Year be a season of repairing our brokenness and a time of breakthrough by welcoming Christ in our lives and thus finding beauty in our shattered path. Walking as Brand New: A new creation in Christ.
