Nagaland open badminton championship concludes

Kohima, October 24 (MExN): A two-daylong Nagaland Open Badminton Championship as part of the silver jubilee edition tournament of Capital Shuttlers Kohima concluded at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Kohima on October 20.

Kesonyu Yhome, President, Nagaland Badminton Association graced the closing ceremony as  the guest of honour and Dr Watizulu Suzumeren Jamir, Vice President, Badminton Association of India, Senior Vice President, Nagaland Badminton Association as the special guest. 

Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs also present at the closing programme. The tournament synopsis was delivered by Molong Aier while vote of thanks was proposed by Kezhalezo Solo, organizing secretary.  

RESULT 
•    Men’s Open Doubles- Champion: Hito and Vike Kense; Runners up: Medemnochet and Teichang
•    Mixed Doubles- Champion: Ekumyala and Vikehietuo Kense; Runners up; Tovali and Medemnochet
•    35+ Veteran Doubles- Champion: Imliwapang Tzudir and Aomolong; Runners up: Bendangnochet and Raju Chettri 
•    40+ Veteran Doubles- Champion: Tajenkaba and Yabang; Runners up: Aomolong and Raju Chettri 
•    50+ Veteran Doubles- Champion: Arep Ao and Yekhuvi Achumi; Runners up: Amardeep and N Wati 
•    45+ Veteran Doubles- Champion: I Aochuba Pongener and Temsü Lkr; Runners up: Dr Watizulu and Bendangnochet 
•    55+ Veteran Doubles- Champion: Arep Ao and Yekhuvi Achumi; Runners up: I Temjen Ao and N Wati
