NOKLAK, JUNE 26 (MExN): The Noklak Police provided training in livelihood skills like making mudaa and various other handicrafts to OST Clients undergoing drugs rehabilitation on occasion of International day against drugs abuse and illicit trafficking.

Noklak Police SP, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS stated that this was the fourth batch of drug rehabilitation patients whereby Noklak Police takes initiative to teach livelihood skills. Every time a batch of 120 OST clients participate to learn new skills. After giving them needed medicine and proper counseling, training is given so that they can earn their livelihood after their OST course finishes. They are urged to strictly follow tapering and reducing the dosage of OST medicines.

Past records are checked to know whether they have properly reduced dosage or not or if any misuse is going on. 

Though Noklak Police is stringent in controlling drugs abuse and on random raids to register cases under NDPS act; however on other hand it also helps the ones who want to reform.

Pastor Penglang of Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak taught with bible teachings and gave counseling to them on reformation of one's life. 

Noklak district handloom and handicrafts council president, S Khumo trained them to make various handicrafts from bamboo and asked them to earn livelihood by hard work. 

Earlier the programme was chaired by J Khumong, Manager of TI Project Noklak who urged everyone to adopt a healthy life and not to misuse OST. Invocation was done by Chaplain Mano of Noklak Police fellowship church. 

All together 120 clients participated and a few clients of previous/ earlier batches shared their testimony of reformation with the present batch.
