Phek, September 22 (MExN): A total of 247 children were screened and treated accordingly depending on their ailments/cases during the visits of 10 Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) under Phek by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team Phek from September 7-20. 

Medications were also  provided to children during the visits, informed a press release from District Media Officer (NHM) Phek, Kutolu Nakro.

The RBSK team Phek comprising of Dr Chikhopalu Vese, Medical Officer and Neibanuo GNM RBSK NHM, visited  the AWC in Suthotsu, Tehephu, Kutsapo, Losami, Lanye, Lozaphuhu, Phek Basa, Chosaba and Sohomi village, it said.  

During the screenings cases like dental conditions, cleft up and palate, vitamin deficiencies were referred to District hospital Phek for further treatment.

Besides, the team also gave health talks on the importance of Covid vaccination and undertook sample testing, it added. 

The  RBSK is a new initiative aiming at early identification and early intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover 4 ‘Ds’ i.e. defects at birth, deficiencies, diseases, development delays and disabilities.
