Zunheboto, June 28 (MExN): The Green Club Zunheboto (GCZ) in collaboration with Sumi Region NSCN (IM), observed the sixth death anniversary of Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman and former president of NSCN (IM) at the burial ground in Chishili village on June 28.

Tavinto K Sumi, President, GCZ in the introductory remark recalled the sacrifices and dedications of Isak Chishi Swu for the life that he dedicated for Naga Nation, stated a press release received here. 

The NSCN (IM), Army Commander in Chief (Longvibu), General Ninkhan Shimray in his speech said recollected Isak’s advice that “no matter what people’s philosophy, political philosophy or how strong the Army's ammunition and strength are, without God's will, it will not work.”

“Among Nagas there had not been and will never be any other like Isak,” he affirmed and said, “the people of Bethlehem was blessed because Christ was born in their village and similarly, how blessed Chishilimi and Sumis are because a political Messiah was born in their land.” 

Qhevihe Chishi Swu, Member, Collective Leadership NSCN/GPRN lauded the GCZ for initiating the death anniversary programme for two consecutive years, the release stated. Rev A Puni, Member, Collective Leadership NSCN/GPRN in his addressed said that “when Isak was in authority everything was in good situation” and “NSCN was also very popular during his days” and expressed regret that “with his death everything changed.”

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Angukato H Achumi, opening prayer was pronounced by Rev Yehoshe Chishi, special number presented by Isak’s granddaughters, Sheli and Azealia, short speeches were delivered by Sumi Hoho and Sumi Totimi Hoho, vote of thanks proposed by Euster Chishi Swu, Member, Collective Leadership NSCN/GPRN. It concluded with a benediction by Tokishe Swu, Pastor, Chishilimi Baptist Church and wreath laying ceremony.
