State Handloom Expo in Dimapur underway

Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): The State Handloom Expo under the theme, ‘My Handloom My Pride’ on was inaugurated by Director,  Industries and Commerce, K Hokishe Assumi at Urban Haat, Dimapur on February 10. 

A total of 60 stalls have been set up at the ongoing expo, with 60 participants from Assam, Manipur, and host State Nagaland, and scheduled for 14 days from February 10 to 23.

The Handloom Expo is funded by the Development Commissioner(Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India under the National Handloom Development Programme(NHDP), stated a DIPR report.

The main objective of the expo is to allow the Handloom Cooperative Society, Corporation/ Federation, SHGs, engaged in Handloom Production, Weavers entrepreneurs, Sant Kabir awardees, National and State awardees, and outstanding Weavers etc to showcase and sell their products as well as to promote business opportunities and to provide a rich experience to the weavers to enhance their skills and techniques in sales and marketing.
