‘Strengthen youth, Sunday School ministry if churches want to grow’

33rd Sümi Baptist Pastors’ Union biennial conference underway

Zunheboto, October 21 (MExN): The 33rd Sümi Baptist Pastors’ Union biennial conference is underway at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) under the theme, ‘Back to the family’ from October 20. 

More than 350 pastors from different churches under SBAK (Nito Mount), SABAK and WSBAK are attending the three-day conference, stated a press release from Media Cell Planning Board 33rd SBPU Conference.

The conference began with an opening act performed by Sunday School Department SBCZ and welcome address by Ihoto Yeptho, Chairman, Deacon Council, SBCZ. 

Er I Hutoshe Awomi, EE PWD (R&B) in his greetings encouraged the pastors to be an agent of change and to focus solely on “soul winning” and not on other materialistic things. He stressed on the need to strengthen the youth and Sunday school ministry in every churches if we want our churches to grow. He also challenged the pastors to identify their talents’ and glorify God’s name by using it to transform the lives of the believers.

Rev Khutovi Swu, President, SBPU delivered the sermon on the topic ‘Back to the family.’ Referring from the Bible in 1st Timothy 3:4-5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He urged the congregation to dedicate their best time to their family mentioning that “God’s desire is for your entire family to come under His blessing and protection.”
