‘Youth have important role in deterring & solving corruption’

Youth are the agents of change in society and they have an important role in deterring and solving corruption and are key constituents in ensuring peaceful co-existence in a society. The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO), Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji articulated this during the Youth Voters Festival 2023 held at town hall, Mokokchung on October 7. 

Mokokchung DC & DEO maintained that youth have the ability to learn and adapt to the environment. Similarly, they are willing to learn on it as well to achieve their goal. He said social reforms and improvement of our society is in the hands of youth, therefore, in a democratic country like India, changes or progress cannot be achieved without the active participation and contribution of the youth.

He urged the young participants to be wise enough in their actions, especially while casting their precious vote in electing their representatives saying that their action and participation will decide the future.

Assistant Election officer, Mokokchung Renben Mozhui gave an awareness presentation while Moamenla, District Mission Co-ordinator, emphasized on the importance of Mission Shakti which is a comprehensive scheme launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in India, aimed at ensuring the safety and empowerment of women across the country.

Short play was presented by the Demstify Institute for Montessori & Nursery Teachers Training, Mokokchung, and special songs were presented by Yimkumla from Jubilee Memorial College and Supongsangla Jamir, PwD Icon.ADC & SVEEP Nodal Officer, Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, delivered the closing remarks.The programme was chaired by EAC (Kobulong), Seyievilie Pfukri.
