Kohima, June 26 (MExN): The Zhadima Students' Union (ZSU) has conducted its annual felicitation programme for the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2022 at Zhadima village in Kohima district on June 25.

Zakienei Khoubve, (Rtd) additional director of Directorate of School Education & Zhadima School Management Committee chairman graced the occasion as speaker.

In his speech, Khoubve congratulated the successful students numbering 86 from both HSLC and HSSLC.

He stressed on the need for God's blessings in one's life in order to succeed both in academic and professional life as a student. He also called upon the students to respect and preserve their mother tongue, 'Tenyidie' saying it is now their responsibility to save it for posterity.

Khoubve said one of the most important ways to preserve Tenyidie was to speak, write and communicate in the language, and at the same time enhance oneself, by learning how to read and write.

He said the language barrier especially in the younger generations was becoming a huge problem as many overlook the use of Tenyidie and instead opt to interact in other language(s).

Khoubve urged the students to pursue higher studies in Tenyidie where a student could even earn PhD and then teach the upcoming generations.

He also highlighted on the need to make the best use of technology which had now become an indispensable part of life. Further, he encouraged the students to choose their professions wisely and not just be focused at white collar jobs.

Exhorting the students, Zhadima Village Council chairman Neilalhoulie Soliezuo urged the students to be responsible and contribute to the welfare of the village in particular and the Naga society in general.

He advised the students to be honest wherever their professional lives may lead them and be torch bearers of the village.

Earlier the programme was chaired by ZSU general secretary Medolenuo Ambrocia while presidential address was delivered by Kevingulie Soliezuo.

CRC Zhadima, church promoter, Vikietuo Loucü invoked God's blessings and Ruokuophrenuo Khoubve presented a special number.

Speech on behalf of the students was given by Vizoneinuo Chüpuo, while Keduoneituo Theünuo gave the statistical report. Vote of thanks was proposed by Asibou Loucü.
