BHANDARI, FEBRUARY 10 (MExN): The 1st Bhandari Sub-Division Departmental Sports Meet concluded on February 9. Organized in support of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign, 21 departments participated in the meet, stated a DIPR release.
7th NAP, Bhandari emerged victorious in women’s volleyball. Agri & Allied team were the runners-up. The 7th NAP took the title in men’s football defeating the Engineering team. Anganwadi worker’s won the tug-of-war event.
The release added that the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon attended the concluding day as a special guest. On the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, Samoon maintained that equal opportunity should be given to the girl child without discrimination. He assured to extend all support and help education of the girl child and urged people to avail the scheme launched by the government in support of the campaign.
