21st Watsü General Conference concludes

Mokokchung, April 29(MExN): The 21st Watsü General Conference which began on April 27 at Town Hall, Mokokchung, concluded the next day with the election of new office bearers. Taljungla, Director, Ao Theological Association was the main speaker on the concluding day of the conference.  

Talking on the theme of the conference “Aowli Temelenshi (Sustainable Change)”, Talijungla, stressed on the concept of sustainable change, change that brings about growth, peace and prosperity, a change where everyone can participate and a kind of change that improves the quality of life.  

Sustainable change, she added, will not happen if we do things just because others are doing it and urged the Ao women to act practically and put our words into action.  

The last day of the conference also had a discussion session on “Sustainable change in business” with Rongsenienla Aier, Rtd. Director agri Kohima and Dr. Sashiyangba, District Project Officer, Dept. of Land resource, Mokokchung as the resource persons and Dr. Imlirenla Walling as the moderator.  

Maongienla from Waromung village was elected the new President  and Temsujungla, Mongsenyimti as the vice-president with Moanaro, Mangmetong and N. Amenla Lemtur, Chuchuyimpang as the General secretary and Asst Secy respectively.
