61st KBSU general session underway

Kohima, December 28 (MExN): The 61st general session of the Khulazu Basa Students' Union (KBSU) got underway at Cekiizho, Khulazu Basa village under Phek district with the theme “Education and Skill; two dimensional approach in employment.”  

The guest speakers for the session include Vekhosa Kezo, Scientist, Central Ground Water Board, Govt. of India, Ministry of Water Resources, and Vekhoyi Tetseo, Asst. Registrar, SASRD, Nagaland University, Medziphema. The resource persons include Seto Rhakho and Nukhosa Chuzho.  

Vekhosa Kezo in his address stated that “Spirit of self reliance and dignity of labour” are the need of the hour and challenged every student to be responsible for their failures and success.  

Kezhothito Keyho, President KBSU in his presidential address affirmed that the prime reason for the existence of the union is to protect the rights and work for the welfare of the students. He also urged the students to contribute to the societal compact which the students identify themselves with.  

Short speech was also delivered by S Pusayi Rhakho, the first matriculate from Khulazu Basa Village during which he reminded the gathering to equip with wisdom and knowledge as it is the only way to succeed in life.  

Further Vezhohu Rhakho, Headmaster In-charge, Govt. High School, Khulazu Basa challenged the students to rebuild the society with far sighted vision and said that books are a student’s guardian and will lead them to the right path of knowledge.  

The best student of the year award was awarded to Vengota Keyho, Class 7, and Phisalii, Class 6.  

The session will conclude on December 29.
