AAAC team inspect St. Joseph’s College

Jakhama, July 17 (MExN): The Academic and Administrative Audit Committee (AAAC) team deputed by the Directorate of Hr. Education, Kohima, Government of Nagaland visited St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on July 17.  

The team comprised of Dr. Ranjan Kumar Behera as Convenor, Dr. Watijungshi Jamir and Dr. Visakhono Hibo as members.  

A short programme was held in the Conference Hall to welcome the AAAC team which was hosted by James H. K., Asst. Prof. Department of English. SJC Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastian Ousseparampil welcomed the guests followed by a special number from Yapangmenla Walling.  

Presentations by SJC Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastian Ousseparampil, IQAC Coordinator, Fr. George Anthony and y Library Committee were headed by Rev. Fr. Joy Thomas. It was followed by presentations of the 11 (eleven) departments of the college viz. Political Science, History, English, Sociology, Economics, Education, Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, Commerce and BBA.  

After the lunch break, the AAAC team members took rounds of inspecting the various facilities like library, language lab., waste management, auditorium, playground, counseling centre, museum, botanical garden, mini zoo, health centre, NCC offices, Canteens etc.  

There were separate interactions with the students’ body, non-teaching staff members, and the teaching staff. The visit came to an end with the exit meeting, during which the members of the AAAC Team presented their observations and assessment of the day.  

A press release from the College stated that the “Team members were confident that St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama would be granted the Autonomous Status when UGC Inspection team comes to the college in the month of August, 2018, as in the schedule of the college.”
