AR troops apprehend alleged arms dealers

Dimapur, November 1 (MExN): Personnel of 32 Assam Rifles apprehended three alleged arms dealers in two separate incidents in Dimapur recently.  

One person identified as Inache H Awomi (45) was apprehended along with .22 mm pistol with magazine and other “incriminating documents” during an operation conducted at Burma Camp, Dimapur on October 30, according to a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (North).  

In a separate operation carried out at Super Market area here on October 31, two persons were apprehended with two .22 mm pistols with magazines. They have been identified as Ayang Ao (55) and Moa Jamir Ao (46).  

All the three apprehended persons along with the recovered items have been handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, the PRO said.  

It was informed that both the operations were carried out along with police representative based on specific information regarding presence of arms dealers.
