Kohima, October 31 (DIPR): An Assessment Camp for Persons with Disabilities (DIVYANGJAN) was held at Razhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima on October 31.
The camp was organized by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), (A Government of India undertaking) under the DEPwDs (DIVYANGJAN), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment sponsored under its CSR initiative by National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) (A Govt. of India undertaking) in collaboration with DDRC, Dimapur and District Administration, Kohima.
During the camp, a total number of fifty (50) PwDs with different types of disabilities like Orthopedically Handicapped (OH), Cerebral Palsy, Locomotor (physically handicapped), hearing and speech disabilities etc. were examined and assessed for selection of aids and appliances like Crutches, Wheel chairs etc., they would require.
The officials of the camp informed that the selected PwDs will be provided aids and appliances during December, 2017 and January, 2018 free of cost. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kiusumong also visited the assessment camp and provided necessary logistic assistance from the district administration side.
