Kohima, October 6 (MExN): Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) is organising training on Disaster Preparedness, First Aid and Environment Protection for community level first responders in Khonoma village from October 9-14. The training is organised in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and Department of Home Guards & Civil Defence.
According to a release from Convenor, Training Committee, it aims to impart proper training to community level youth who are usually the first responders in times of accidents, forest fires and natural disasters. Participants of the training will later assist the NSDMA not only as first responders but also as trainers when training programmes are organised in future by the department.
All participants have been directed to reach the training venue latest by 2:00 pm on October 8. Presidents of all the ranges (CYO, SAYO, NAYO and WAYO) are to ensure the same, the release added.
