Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): Another successful project of MGNREGA, a wooden-cum-bamboo bridge was inaugurated on February 10 at Hovukhu village under Niuland Sub-Division by Visasolie Lhoungu, Project Director, DRDA, Dimapur in presence of villagers and officials of DRDA Dimapur. This was stated in a press note received here.
Pastor of Hovukhu Baptist Church offered dedicatory prayer to mark the simple but impressive function. Speaking on the occasion, Visasolie Lhoungu appreciated the villagers on the fruitful execution of the project and further encouraged the villagers to exercise their authority for the development of the village. He said that doing works which would benefit the whole community is the real development and in order to bring about more development there should be understanding and unity among the villagers besides having good leaders who are truthful and honest.
In his brief speech, Kashiho Sangtam, Block Development Officer, Niuland Block also lauded the villagers for the success of the project. He said without the bridge the villagers were facing major problem during rainy season. He also highlighted various new schemes that are in the pipeline for the benefit of the villagers.
