CEM Kumlong hold orientation for teachers

Mokokchung, February 25 (MExN): The Christian Education Ministry, Kumlong held its first Teacher-Mentors orientation programme with special emphasis on Sunday School children on February 24 at Kumlong Baptist Church here.

Lecturer Arenla from Clark Theological College, who was the resource person, told the teachers gathered that each teacher is a mentor and so a mentor should have clear understanding of one self, learners, and also one's vocation.

A mentor can influence people through his/her character, knowledge and skills, she stated, according to a press release received here. Since the mentors are in “people business,” Arenla added the ability to relate well with others is of prime importance.

She further cited that Jesus has set the best example for spiritual mentoring through his life and ministry.

The main aim of the programme was to help individuals identify potentiality in self and nurture them for holistic development which would ultimately lead them to an intimate relationship with God, the release stated.

The orientation was attended by 23 teachers.
