Chupfuo Angami clarifies on withdrawal

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 13 (MExN): NPF nominee of 11-Northern Angami-II A/C, Chupfuo Angami on Tuesday clarified that the decision to withdraw nomination from the General Election 2018 was due to health complication and not for personal gain as alleged.  

“Many allegations are made against me…but I appeal to everyone not to make any false allegation but rather confront me as I am ready to clarify it,” a press release from Chupfuo Angami stated.  

“I am a man of principle and had been faithful to my party through thick and thin in my 43 years of political career and my support is still with NPF party,” the press release added.  

Following Chupfuo Angami’s withdrawal of nomination on Monday, MP Lok Sabha, Neiphiu Rio who is also contesting from the 11-Northern Angami-II A/C with a NDPP ticket was declared as elected unopposed.
