Dimapur Meetei Council honour students

Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): The Dimapur Meetei Council (DMC) organised a felicitation for Meetei students who have successfully passed in the recently declared board examinations. Th. Sharatchandra Singh, Principal, Immanuel College graced as special guest of the event held on June 9.  

The special guest in his speech encouraged the students to have logical observation, and creative and analytical thinking. Illustrating with the examples of the toppers, Singh said that it was not very difficult to score good marks in the examinations when students consistently give more time to study from the beginning.  

The president of DMC, Sarat Thangjam in his presidential address emphasized on the importance of English language since it is the medium of instruction in all the schools in Nagaland. He also stated that “in a place where there is a dearth of industries, factories or mega companies, education is the only weapon to survive.”  

Indrojit Leihaorambam, general secretary, DMC advised the students to take up courses and subjects as per the demand in the job market and for which, he suggested to have an orientation for all the passed out students right after the declaration of results.  

The programme began with a traditional prayer by Indrojit Leihaorambam, general secretary, DMC, chaired by Kamal Singh, Executive Member, welcome address given by Maibam Sanjit, joint secretary and it concluded with the vote of thanks pronounced by Ajit Khoirom, Cultural Secy, DMC.
