Directorate of Field Publicity organises National Unity Day

Kohima, November 1 (DIPR): Along with the rest of the country, the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed at St. Joseph School, Kohima on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The occasion, organised by the Directorate of Field Publicity, was to foster and reinforce the government’s dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation.  

In her speech, resource person and senior faculty, R. Khyothunglo deliberated on the significance of the event. Making students aware about Sardar Patel’s contribution in nation building, she highlighted about Patel’s role in uniting the country. In his keynote address, Renkyothung, Head Master of St. Joseph School, dwelled on the significance of the day and also expressed hope that more such programmes will be organised in the future to create awareness among young minds on the importance of the unity of the nation. To mark the celebration, a quiz competition was also organised. It was curated by Tongpangkokba, faculty of St. Joseph school.
