Naga People’s Front (NPF) president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu today reiterated that the 2018 State general election is not an election between the political parties for formation of government, but a trial time for the Nagas to preserve their identity and faith.

Addressing election rally at Sechu Zubza for NPF candidate Keneizhakho Nakhro from 8th Western Angami A/C, Shürhozelie claimed that the Naga people are not aware, but the NDPP is helping the BJP set its root in Nagaland at the cost of power and money.

NPF, he stated, had been an ally of BJP for over 14 years, but denied the seat sharing policy with the latter and thus the NDPP came forward and offered the BJP 20 seats to contest in the 60-member house. This seat-sharing, he said, was “nothing but only to hold power at the cost of the Naga people.”

According to him, NPF never allowed BJP a "free hand" during their 14 years association “but in 2018 they came aggressively asking seat sharing which the NPF can never agree.”

NPF president admitted that in 15-year rule of NPF government, many achievements have taken place but the 12th house experienced the greatest crisis in the history of Nagaland government and the crisis had developed due to some corrupt and power-mongering leaders.

However, he maintained that many of these leaders were dropped from the NPF party and were denied party tickets.

He appealed to the people of 8th Western Angami A/C to elect Keneizhakho Nakhro to represent them at the legislative assembly and carry forward the manifesto of the NPF party.

Sharing his area of focus, NPF candidate Keneizhakho Nakhro assured to deliver all weather good motorable roads, access to good health care, strengthen education at the grassroots, livelihood development and capacity building for self employment and infrastructure development.

He stated that the society needs change which has to come from within and he wants to see "our land prosper and progress with the resources and manpower we have."

"Let us join hands in this venture of change for a better and greater progressive society," the NPF candidate appealed.

Further, he urged the people of the constituency to elect him and enable him to serve them loyally.

Earlier, Goniu Sirie, president, NPF Kohima division delivered welcome address.
