Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): Free IOL Cataract Surgery Camp under the National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) co-sponsored by the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) was held from December 5 to 7 at Community Health Centre (CHC), Medziphema.
On the first day a short launching programme was held with SMO Dr. N. Sezo as the Chairman, short speeches were delivered by President, CPO Vichütuolie Mere and Dr. Asonla Aying Chang, Senior Specialist DHD. Inaugural prayer was given by Pastor Vicha Kuotsu, CRC Loliba Medziphema Town.
The initial activities for this camp was started in the month of July 2017 till November 2017, where Ophthalmic Assistant, C P Sharma personally took initiatives to visit all the villages.
The CPO has acknowledged Dr. Asonla Aying Chang and her Medical Team who came for the three day camp all the way from Dimapur, leaving aside their families and normal duties. We would also like to thank SMO Dr. N Sezo and his CHC Medziphema team, for assisting in all the activities, SASRD, Nagaland University for the accommodation, ADC Medziphema Vikhweno Chale and M/s Swift Tour Enterprise, Medziphema for their support towards this camp.
CPO President Vichütuolie Mere and General Secretary Zakievisie Kruse in a press release informed that through the camp, 31 operations were conducted, in which 5 cases of Bilateral and 4 cases of total blindness were done.
