Governor meets BS&G, Sainik Board members

Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya visited the office of Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G) and the Directorate of Rajya Sainik Board on June 22 in Kohima.  

Interacting with the officers and staff of both organizations in their respective offices, Acharya stated that the North East Region of India was still lacking in development as compared to the rest of the States in the country.  

In order to progress we have to strengthen the society, he maintained and called on them to play their role towards the development of the State, according to a press release from his PRO.  

He also noted that the President of India has urged the Governors to convene meetings with empowered organizations from time to time and to inspire them towards social responsibility in the society.  

Stating that the strength of the chain lies in the weakest link, he urged the organizations to reach out to beneficiaries and enlighten them on various Central and State Government Schemes available for their benefit.  

Acharya further said that the dormant or hidden energy of both organizations should be utilized to reach out to the people especially those living in the remote areas.  

He emphasized that members of BS&G and RSB should visit villages at regular intervals. They should engage with residents of the villages in regard to cleanliness, literacy and immunisation and should be game changers to identify the beneficiaries for Central and State flagship programmes, he added.  

The Governor of Nagaland is the Chief Patron of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides and President of Rajya Sainik Board.
